I am spending a huge chunk of this staycation with badtv.

Am through the first couple of seasons of Farscape, inordinately beautiful to look at, but the notion of continuity seems to have been lost somewhere. Baby Browder and Black are amusing, although the chemistry is iffy for me. The other cast are all over the place in characterization.

Sadly, MacGyver has not aged well, but it does have some charm.

Now on to Highlander. If I could only figure out how their costuming department could make a hooded sweatshirt look like a poets shirt, I would be happy. I am reduced to hysterical laughter at least every episode. It, too, has charm, and poets shirts, and pretty cast, and of course my beloved Seacouver.

I should be clear, this is my first time around with these shows. I am taking recs, and there was good tv. Tomorrow.

Highlander was one of my fall-hard-and-deep fandoms for several years. Even before Methos appeared on the scene, the show did something for me, and I read just about everything in a couple of the online archives. (Okay, I started just about everything -- lots of stories I gave up on early.)

I like the development of the mythology, I like some of the characters. I like how Duncan is absolutely sure in some things, and seems all at sea in others. Surprise!Roland Gift didn't hurt, and there was a run of guest stars made my heart ache - Anthony Stewart Head, Callum Keith Rennie, Jason Isaacs and Geraint Wyn Davies for starters. Nick Lea and Roddy Piper, too.

I don't think I want fic, do I?

I've been spending a lot of time with House - my son and his gf gave me seasons 2, 3 and 4 for Christmas.

I watched the first few seasons, and then it lost me, but yes, worth it.

I don't know why it didn't take originally. Possibly small child in house. It's me explanation why I was so late to the Due South party, regardless. RayK, for the win.

I am full of nostalgia for all three of these things now.

This is the best kind of staycation, for sure. Enjoy!
