Yay, it's nothing permanent
After HOURS drinking the barium and CT scan and killing my phone from boredom, I have diagnosis:  Epiploic appendagitis

Yes, yes, feel free to giggle.

Feel free to blame wincon for tenticular stuffs.

I had to Google that.

"Complete resolution without surgical intervention usually occurs between 3 to 14 days. Inaccurate diagnosis can lead to unnecessary hospitalizations, antibiotic therapy, and surgical intervention."

Glad they got it right, then! I hope it's closer to three days than fourteen.

Discomfort level is down following judicious application of meds. Thanks!

Wow. How?

But mainly, do the doctors think it will go away and not leave any permanent effects? That sounds terribly uncomfortable. :(

Yes, apparently, done is done and no reason to think it will come back. Uncomfortable is just how I described it.

Meds, heating pad, bad tv and knitting are on the menu. Could be so much worse. Thanks!

Inorite? They were bandying about lots of other things that were pretty horrifying. Thanks.

I had to google.

Glad to hear you'll be okay.

The nurses had to google, too. More than 20 years ER experience between them, and none of them had encountered it. I feel so special. Kind of like one of the Greta Old Ones.

Wow! (Thank goodness for Google.) I am sorry to hear that you have this and delighted that you don't have something even worse. Wishing you a speedy recovery!

I always find odd what the medical community designates "benign." Mostly it's attributed to things that are so not "agreeable."

So glad it doesn't warrant surgery, and hope that the convalescence is short (or at least the disagreeable parts of it).
