Star Trek
Ok, I've seen it. Please discuss.

I am delighted with parts of it and mourn so many others.

The one piece of casting I thought was rock solid was sort of unimpressive, and played as a cartoon.

I was so worried about Karl Urban, and he was perfect. Let us not even talk about Simon Pegg who was so spot on, I need to applaud all over again. The rest of the cast was good, I even got over my Kirk aversion. I missed Number One.

Most of all, I cried when I saw the Enterprise. I've been in love with her since I was ten, I see no need to stop now.

I liked it a lot too. It felt like a great new pair of shoes. You love them! But sometimes they don't fit like the worn out pair you are replacing them with. I want to see it again and buy the DVD

Worn out? New shoes! It's spring! Need new shoes!

Um... You were saying?

I would like them to stop with the jerky camera business and give Quinto longer legs. Can you fix?

Karl Urban was so goddamned perfect I almost peed myself laughing during the "hypo Jim in the neck every minute" bit.

I loved whoever played Pike, as well. Really, all the casting was great, and I only wished they hadn't felt it necessary to go AU on us—it's not like there wasn't plenty of wiggle-room, canon-wise. Wimps. Anytime someone resorts to time-travel (when it's not the entire POINT of the film) I want to hit them with a shoe. And it's been done in the ST franchise way, way too much.

But I grinned my way through the thing.

I kept telling The Boy™ that I hated this and that and the other thing, and in the end it amounted to the camera work and the way Spock was played.

*bounce* It was so nice to hear Majel. Paul McGillion's cameo! The USS Gillian!

I liked it a bunch more than disliked.

*Hugs Simon Pegg*
