Geese
Swallows go back to Capistrano, Buzzards to Hinkley. In Minnesota, there's no specific day, but when the geese show up, it means the end of winter is Real Soon Now. At McCorporation, we have a pair that nests in the daylily bed under the skyway. They've been there for at least seven years. This year, however, there is a new player in town. This goose - note to Darwin, you may have been wrong... - has decided to build a nest in the visitor parking area. In a lane of traffic. Any more questions about the term "stupid goose"?

Oh no. And here I thought the mourning dove investigating my own daylily bed, which is open to wandering cats and the neighbors' dogs, was a bit dim.
