On Sunday, I met some women I knit with.
We drove to Eau Claire.

Anne, Shari, Dixie (Yellow Dog Yarn) and Betty.
Yes, THAT Shari, knitter of the One True Sweater which she knit for ME!
We met more knitters.

Chris, Jeanne, Deb, your hostess, and Vicki. We had intended to meet at the Acoustic Cafe which is kitty-corner from the yarn shop, but we ended up meeting in the yarn shop, of course. We met a lot of other knitters, notably CursingMama and the non-knitting Mr. Motorcycle.
We bought yarn, we ate, we talked, we knit. Make sure you take a moment to see the glorious Fib sweater. We walked two blocks to the Masonic Hall. Vicki and I got there first. No really. The nice man was just unlocking the doors. Then, we set up chairs. Then we knit some more. Then I had a knitting fiasco - the second sock, 5 inches long, was not striping the same as the first. 72 stitches, not 66. It's good to have friends to rip out the needles because you are an idiot. I frogged. I muttered. Mr. Motorcycle laughed. I cast on again. Cindyb helped commiserate and I can't find a link to her!
Then, she was there. She spoke. I laughed, I cried. We went back to the shop and got books signed. I had printed out all the Olympic Knitting buttons I could find as a poster, for Stephanie.

I even got to hold.... The Sock...

I know I've forgotten to mention really neat knitters I met and talked with. It was really really fun.
Can we do it all again soon, please?
